Keeping Pace With EU Data Privacy Law Overhaul

The European Union recently announced plans to reform its outdated data protection laws with a new privacy framework that could impact so fundamentally the way companies conduct business and expose them to such large penalties that compliance may require comprehensive redesign of company privacy and data security policies across all operations — both inside and outside the EU. This article outlines the proposed regulations and their implications for companies that handle the data of EU citizens.
