Head of Money-Losing L.A. County Fair Assn. Made Nearly $900,000 in Total Compensation

Loeb & Loeb partner Marcus Owens is quoted in an article that examines the nonagricultural businesses engaged in by the Los Angeles County Fair Assn. as well as the incommensurately high pay of the fair’s chief executive. The tax-exempt organization was formed in 1940 to promote the region’s then-booming agriculture industry, but over the years the association has morphed into something resembling a conglomerate, with little connection to farming or livestock.
