Josh Freeman Stinn works at the intersection of law and public policy, leading a diverse corporate, business, regulatory and real estate practice. Leveraging his extensive political and government experience, Josh is able to provide clients with strategic legal counsel on how best to position themselves in highly regulated and politically nuanced matters.
In addition to his strategic legal counsel, Josh’s practice includes a variety of land use, environmental and contract matters, as well as government and regulatory compliance and affairs. He also works with public and non-public entities, including municipalities and universities, to achieve long-range strategic goals and settle pre- and post-litigation claims.
Josh is honored to serve as a Judge Pro Tem for the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles, presiding over cases in the areas of family law, domestic violence, civil harassment, small claims, traffic, and unlawful detainer.
In addition to his legal practice and Pro Tem service, Josh sits on the Board of Public Counsel, the largest pro bono law firm in the nation. Each year Public Counsel partners with leading law firms in representing over 30,000 clients, primarily children and families living at or below the poverty level, as well as various community organizations. Josh is also a member of Loeb’s Diversity Committee and the Los Angeles office’s LGBTQ Affinity Group.
Before beginning his legal career, Josh worked at the national level on four presidential campaigns, providing strategic advice in the areas of media, messaging, and voter outreach. He also served in former California Governor Gray Davis' administration as the Deputy Director of Advance, coordinating large-scale media events and public relations strategy. With his unique background in law, policy, government and politics, Josh offers his clients deep insights into the nuanced considerations that impact a transaction, regulatory process or dispute resolution.
