Frank Lee specializes in corporate finance and securities, mergers and acquisitions, SEC compliance, and corporate governance matters with an energy industry focus. His clients consist primarily of publicly traded and privately held energy companies, as well as investment banks, private equity funds, renewable energy developers and project sponsors, and solar panel manufacturers. Frank also counsels public and private companies on transactional matters beyond the utility and energy spaces.
Having started his legal career at an energy-focused boutique, Frank has a deep understanding of the industry, witnessing firsthand many substantial shifts over the years. A trusted resource for clients on the front lines of an evolving field, Frank strategically applies his industry knowledge and experience in advising companies both large and small on solar and other renewable energy matters.
Working with innovative clients who are forging new ground in their respective industries is my favorite aspect of my practice. It’s exciting to be on the leading edge of a new idea or direction that has the power to fill a void.
Frank has notable experience representing issuers and underwriters in various securities offerings and other financing matters. He acts as regular underwriter’s and issuer’s counsel for several energy and utility companies in the U.S. and has been involved in the issuance of over $8 billion of securities in the past decade. Frank has represented several global electric utility companies in significant mergers and acquisitions over the course of his career. Frank has also advised his clients on transactions involving the merger, financing, development, and acquisition and sale of transmission and generation facilities —including merchant and peaking fossil fuel facilities — and renewable generation facilities, including solar, wind, hydro, geothermal and waste-to-energy facilities.
