Overview

Brittney Butts advises nonprofits and tax-exempt organizations on a number of matters and transactions, including entity formation, corporate governance and federal and state tax compliance. In particular, she regularly works with clients to ensure their tax-exempt status by preparing and filing 1023 applications with the Internal Revenue Service.

Brittney works with a variety of tax-exempt organizations, including public charities, private foundations, trade associations, schools and other educational organizations.

Before beginning her legal career, Brittney served as an intern in the White House Office of Presidential Correspondence, and taught middle school mathematics and science in Atlanta, Georgia.
