Loeb & Loeb is pleased to announce that Litigation partner Wook Hwang has been selected for inclusion in The Hollywood Reporter’s 2023 "New York Power Lawyers" list. The accolade recognizes the top 25 New York-based entertainment lawyers who “navigate cutting-edge deals and fight novel court battles for clients in theater, music, media and more.”
In the accompanying profile, Wook is highlighted for recently representing international media conglomerate Condé Nast in a trademark and false advertising action against hip-hop artists Drake and 21 Savage. This cased stemmed from their use of a fake Vogue magazine cover to promote their joint album. Wook told The Hollywood Reporter that the suit was “a flurry of work in a very condensed period of time,” noting that the case concluded with “a fantastic result.” Wook is also commended in the article for his role in aiding the Broadway production company behind Aaron Sorkin's stage adaptation of Harper Lee's novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" in affirming that the play can be performed in any U.S. theater.
