Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that James “Jamie” Null, a leading tax attorney, has joined the firm’s New York office as a partner in the Capital Markets and Corporate Department, further strengthening the firm’s delivery of sophisticated tax counsel to its domestic and international clients.

Null brings nearly fifteen years of experience advising on U.S. federal tax matters, including transactional tax issues associated with U.S. inbound and outbound investments, as well as domestic and international tax planning for individual, corporate and partnership transactions. He also advises on private equity investments and structures, and on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions.

“Jamie’s experience is extensive and deep,” said Mitch Nussbaum, Vice Chair of Loeb & Loeb and Chair of the firm’s Capital Markets and Corporate Department. “Jamie will be a great addition to our market-leading practice and strengthen the comprehensive transactional counsel we provide to clients across industries.”

Null’s practice is diverse and growing. He advises on transactions across a wide range of industries, including real estate, entertainment, media, biotechnology, alternative energy, hospitality, transportation and technology. Null has substantial experience with real estate-related transactions, including sophisticated like-kind exchanges involving domestic and foreign interest holders. He also works frequently in the media and entertainment sector, advising U.S. and non-U.S. entertainment clients on the production and talent side on U.S. and international entertainment investments and joint ventures, productions and events.

“A seasoned veteran of the tax bar, Jamie is known for counseling on complex tax structures across industries,” said New York Office Managing Partner Laurie Ruckel. “We are pleased to welcome such a distinguished and experienced practitioner to the firm.”

“Loeb & Loeb is recognized and respected for its ability to guide major transactions with multifaceted tax issues across the finish line,” Null said. “I am proud to join such an esteemed group with a strong practice of delivering high quality and practical representation for its clients.”

Prior to joining Loeb & Loeb, Null was a partner at Eversheds Sutherland, and before that, a shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, LLP. Null earned his B.A. in politics from Brandeis University before he received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, and earned a Master of Laws degree from New York University’s School of Law.
