Loeb’s Guiding Principles: People, Culture, Clients

Loeb’s Chairman Kenneth Florin talks about the firm’s focus on its people, culture and client service, and what sets Loeb apart. The firm focuses on its people in a few critical ways. First by ensuring they have access to interesting, exciting and innovative work, which is critical for people to be happy and satisfied. Then the firm invests a great deal on training and is very intentional about how they train, leveraging platforms like the Loeb Learning Institute that has a very expansive curriculum, and also invests in mentorships for all lawyers to help them get more involved in the community and establish themselves and their clients. Third, the firm puts a great deal of resources behind supporting people’s well-being.

“Our culture is our secret sauce, it’s what makes us special. As you speak to people you get the sense that this place is special,” adds Kenneth. This is based on the fact that people really know each other, have common experiences and the firm has remained mid-sized enabling people to know each other well. Part of the culture is that “people enjoy being with one another virtually and in-person.”

“We have to deliver our best possible service to clients, in order to grow and be successful” and that is delivered with an intense focus to client needs. Many of the clients and their services  need innovative skillsets and “we deliver by embracing the idea that our unique and most valued expertise, lies at the collaboration between departments.”
