CHICAGO, IL – Loeb & Loeb LLP announced today that trial lawyer Theresa L. Davis will join the firm’s Chicago office as a partner in the Business Litigation Department. With a strong background in securities and financial services litigation, Davis will continue to focus her practice on complex commercial litigation matters at the firm.
Davis litigates and advises clients with respect to federal and state securities law issues, corporate governance matters, purchase price disputes, breach of fiduciary duties, contract disputes, business torts, executive-level employment disputes and consumer class actions. She also conducts internal investigations for corporate clients, special committees and boards of directors, and has substantial experience handling matters involving the interaction between regulatory investigations, enforcement proceedings and civil lawsuits.

Davis brings to Loeb a diverse client base of companies and individuals in a variety of industries including aerospace and defense, automotive, banking, consumer lending, consumer services, insurance, metals and chemicals, retail and technology.

In addition to her practice, Davis is a frequent lecturer on class actions, securities litigation, corporate governance, internal investigations, primary liability for secondary actors under § 10(b), options backdating, tactical positioning of a certified class action, and a wide variety of diversity-related topics. She received her J.D. with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law/Illinois Institute of Technology (1994) and her B.A., with Highest Distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Prior to joining to Loeb & Loeb, Davis was a partner in the Chicago office of Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.
Loeb & Loeb’s Chicago office has grown steadily in recent years to meet client demands; the number of attorneys practicing there has tripled since 2006. Davis is one of five lateral hires who has joined in Chicago in the past two years. She will work closely with the six partners and 10 associates who handle business litigation matters from the Chicago office, as well as support the deep bench of litigators across all offices of the firm.
