Theresa Davis focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation. Ms. Davis has more than 15 years of experience representing banks, financial institutions, private equity and hedge funds, insurance companies and other parties in commercial, bankruptcy, reorganization and corporate governance matters.
Ms. Davis also has substantial experience representing public and private companies and their directors, officers and key employees in securities actions, directors’ and officers’ liability actions and regulatory investigations. She has conducted more than a dozen internal investigations for corporate clients, boards of directors and board committees, and is skilled in handling matters involving the interaction between regulatory investigations, enforcement proceedings and civil lawsuits. She has handled a wide range of matters arising from allegations of accounting irregularities, breaches of fiduciary duties, insider trading, inadequate or misleading public disclosures, purchase price disputes and options backdating.
Ms. Davis’ background in business allows her to work effectively with her clients to understand the business, industry, market and competitive forces underlying a particular issue or litigation. She is able to quickly and accurately evaluate the risks, exposure and impact of a situation and she utilizes cutting-edge technology, multi-disciplined teams and cost-effective strategies to reach the best possible result for her clients.
