Our representative Nuclear Energy experience includes:
- Represented the owner of a proposed US EPR nuclear plant in Missouri and a co-owner of a proposed AP1000 nuclear plant in South Carolina.
- Advised on the development, financing and placement into rate base of the Millstone Units.
- Represented a minority participant investing in a new nuclear facility in the Southeast.
- Created specialized structures for the ownership, financing and operation of nuclear plants and fuel. Drafted and negotiated joint ownership agreements and plant operating agreements among co-owners and drafted and negotiated complex agreements with architect/engineers and equipment and fuel vendors.
- Represented owners in the sale of nuclear power plants and represented majority and minority owners of nuclear plants in disputes with co-owners.
- Represented nuclear plant owners in vendor litigation involving defective equipment.
- Served on legal committees of boards of directors for utility issues relating to nuclear Watch List status.
- Represented utilities in numerous state and federal ratemaking proceedings regarding recovery of capital, O&M and decommissioning costs.
- Represented American Nuclear Insurers in various matters, including litigation arising out of Three Mile Island.
- Represented nuclear plants on decommissioning issues before state and federal agencies.
- Served on the boards of directors of Maine Yankee Atomic Power Company, Vermont Yankee Atomic Power Company, Yankee Atomic Electric Company and Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company.
