Deflategate Could Alter NFL’s Collective Bargaining

The Deflategate saga continues, as the Second Circuit denied a rehearing request meaning New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will likely have to serve his four-game suspension. Loeb & Loeb partner Brian Socolow is quoted on the broader implications to the NFL’s collective bargaining, as the time to negotiate a new CBA draws near.

“At this point, the NFLPA has a lot of serious issues with how Commissioner Goodell has imposed discipline,” he said. “It would not be surprising at all for the NFLPA to try to alter the extent of his disciplinary power during the next round of negotiations.”
