The firm’s Corporate Media and Entertainment Group is one of the largest and most diverse teams assembled to meet clients’ needs in today’s global economy where the nature of financial opportunities in the entertainment industry is becoming increasingly more complex.

“With a long track record of adapting to the ever-changing state of the media and entertainment industries, Channing’s experience is the perfect complement for our group,” said Mickey Mayerson, Managing Partner of Loeb & Loeb’s Los Angeles office and Co-Chair of the Corporate Media and Entertainment Group.

Johnson’s practice includes regular representation of public and private companies in a variety of entertainment sectors including music; film and television production and distribution and animation; as well as in other sectors such as manufacturing; retail (clothing, food and beverage); Internet commerce; and investment banking.

“Channing has a proven ability to identify financial and business opportunities in the entertainment, media and corporate world generally, and then effectively counsel his clients through every step of business development and legal negotiations,” said Loeb & Loeb Co-Chair John Frankenheimer. “Our clients and colleagues will benefit greatly from his expertise and he will be a great addition to our Corporate Media and Entertainment Group.”

Johnson, formerly a co-founding partner of the Los Angeles office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, regularly counsels clients with respect to the issuance of securities, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture and financing agreements, distribution agreements, affiliate carriage agreements, publishing and co-publishing agreements, production deals, tour agreements and artist recording contracts.

Loeb & Loeb Co-Chair Michael Beck added, “Channing is a highly qualified attorney in transactional entertainment law, a platform of our firm. He is a natural fit and we look forward to working with him.”
