In Memoriam: Martin Pollner (1934-2016)

Loeb & Loeb mourns the loss of our longtime partner and friend Martin “Marty” Pollner.

Marty practiced at Loeb & Loeb for nearly 25 years, serving as co-chair of the firm’s White Collar Criminal Defense Practice. He was one of the finest litigators in his field, with a long and distinguished tenure in government service as well as an impressive career in private practice. Marty held a number of major federal positions, including serving as Deputy U.S. Attorney General under Robert F. Kennedy, Director of Law Enforcement of the U.S. Treasury Department, and federal prosecutor in the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New York. He helped develop civil rights legislation and directed various agencies focused on terrorism and organized crime.

Marty was well recognized by his peers for his numerous accomplishments, and was recipient of the Treasury Department’s Meritorious Service Award, the City College of New York’s Townsend Harris Medal for alumni excellence, and the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.

Marty passed away on January 18, 2016. He leaves behind his wife, two children, three grandchildren, and countless friends and colleagues who will miss him deeply.
