Loeb & Loeb Counsels C&J Energy Services in Debt Restructuring and Chapter 11 Filing

Loeb & Loeb LLP is acting as bankruptcy co-counsel to C&J Energy Services Ltd. in a voluntary reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. C&J, a leading provider of well construction and oilfield services in the U.S. and Canada, filed for Chapter 11 on July 20 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas, Houston Division. The reorganization will implement the previously announced Restructuring Support Agreement that C&J executed with its lenders, substantially deleveraging the company’s balance sheet and allowing for the elimination of approximately $1.4 billion in existing debt.

The Loeb & Loeb team acting on behalf of C&J is led by partners Bernard R. Given IILance Jurich and Curtis W. Bajak. Loeb & Loeb is working on this matter with bankruptcy co-counsel Kirkland & Ellis LLP and the company’s special finance and tax counsel Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP.
