The Consumer Protection Defense team, led by Mallow, collaborated on several complex and high-profile cases in the past year, defending clients against aggressive consumer protection laws in regulatory and consumer class actions in California and nationwide. As changes in marketing methodology, including the use of new media channels in marketing and advertising, have led to an increase in litigation actions linked to the collection, storage and use of consumer information, a significant portion of the practice has been dedicated to defending companies across all industries who are faced with privacy-related claims.
“Michael’s determined advocacy on behalf of his clients and deep knowledge of the law, combined with his creativity and ability to identify nonconventional solutions have made him a fierce defense litigator and an outstanding leader for Loeb’s growing consumer protection defense team,” said Mark D. Campbell, partner and deputy chair of the firm’s Consumer Protection Defense Department. “This is a very well-deserved honor for him.”
Loeb & Loeb’s Consumer Protection Defense Department is comprised of more than 20 experienced litigators and trial attorneys who defend government enforcement actions, government investigations and private class action lawsuits that allege violations of consumer protection and unfair competition laws. The firm handles a variety of consumer-related litigation, with a focus on defending economic product defect claims, consumer privacy claims, marketing and advertising misrepresentation claims, and consumer finance-related claims.
