Long-Dead Celebrities Can Now Breathe Easier

October 24, 2007 | The New York Times

Loeb & Loeb LLP is noted and Doug Mirell is quoted on client Marilyn Monroe LLC in connection with the recent passing of SB 771, legislation protecting the posthumous publicity rights for deceased California celebrities and artists by clarifying that these rights may pass to beneficiaries under a deceased celebrity’s will, even if that celebrity died before January 1, 1985. Mirell is also quoted in versions of this story in The Wall Street Journal Online, Cal Law's Legal Pad and Courthouse News Service.
