NEW YORK – Loeb & Loeb LLP is proud to announce it has received the Middle Market Deal of the Year Award for transactions exceeding $250 million in value at the 2nd Annual ACG New York Champion’s Awards. The firm was recognized for its representation of the independent directors of Citadel Broadcasting, a Nevada-based radio broadcast company, in connection with Citadel’s $2.1 billion sale to Cumulus Media, a leading owner and operator of radio stations in the U.S.
A collaboration of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) and The M&A Advisor, the annual New York Champion’s Awards honor companies, individual dealmakers and top transactions in the middle market mergers and acquisitions industry in the greater New York area. The awards were presented before a sell-out crowd at Sotheby’s New York earlier this week.
Loeb & Loeb also received recognition by ACG for its representation of the Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies in devising and implementing a multi-billion dollar asset monetization plan, which was a finalist alongside the Citadel acquisition for the Middle Market Deal of the Year Award. Additionally, David Schaefer, Managing Partner of Loeb & Loeb’s New York office and Chair of the firm’s Corporate Department, who led the Loeb team handling both transactions, was a finalist for ACG’s prestigious Dealmaker of the Year Award.
“It’s an honor for our group to receive this esteemed recognition,” said Schaefer. “We are proud and fortunate to work with visionary clients who enable us to do such innovative work and this is truly a testament to the superb efforts and dedication of everyone on our deal teams.”
Schaefer concentrates his practice in the areas of mergers and acquisitions and other strategic transactions. His clients include strategic and financial investors, as well as boards of directors and special committees.
