Partner
Gregory Blasi practices in the corporate and securities areas, primarily involving the energy industry. He has been involved in the electric power industry for more than 30 years and has experience in all phases of acquisition activity, from advising clients on proposed acquisitions through negotiations and financing to closing.
Mr. Blasi has been involved in representing major investment banks in tax equity financings of various wind and geothermal energy projects in the U.S. He also has advised solar companies on various tax advantaged leasing transactions.
He also is experienced in merger and acquisition activity in connection with a number of other industries including chemical companies and energy service companies. In addition, Mr. Blasi provides advice relating to the Securities Act of 1933, Securities Exchange Act of 1934, and other securities laws.

Represented Morgan Stanley in connection with a tax equity investment in a geothermal power facility owned and operated by Ormat Systems Ltd.

Represented the municipal buyers in Montana and South Dakota in connection with the proposed acquisition of Northwestern Energy Inc.

Represented Countryside Power Income Fund in connection with the refinancing of two gas fired power facilities located in California and the proposed acquisition of several gas fired cogeneration facilities

Numerous public and private equity and secured and unsecured debt financings, and tax exempt debt financings for Energy East Corporation, New York State Electric & Gas Corporation, and Long Island Water Corporation
