Summer Associate Program
Because we are committed to growing the firm from within, we view our summer program as our primary source for attracting – and hiring – new Loeb & Loeb associates.
The Los Angeles–based program gives law students the chance to gain valuable insight into our organization, work hand in hand with experienced attorneys and participate in the work we do for our clients.
We look for bright, energetic team players who view Loeb & Loeb as a good match to their career aspirations and who have the ability and desire to assume a significant amount of professional responsibility. Successful summer associate applicants will possess academic credentials demonstrating success at the nation's top law schools, strong research skills and writing background, leadership skills and assertiveness.
On-campus interviews for the Summer 2010 Program begin in September 2009 at the following schools:
- UC Boalt: TBA
- UCLA: TBA
-
USC: TBA
-
UC Hastings: TBA
For law students participating in the program, their Loeb & Loeb experience begins prior to their arrival at the firm, when the two attorneys assigned to mentor each student over the course of the summer will make an introductory contact. A midsummer evaluation by the mentors, as well as postprogram input from the student, provides constructive, two–way feedback on performance as well as program structure. We implement suggestions for improvement and value the testimonials of our past classes in assessing the program’s vibrancy and effectiveness.
The summer program is also enhanced by a number of special events that bring summer associates and attorneys together for professional seminars as well as fun, informal social gatherings.
Summer associates who join the firm after graduation from law school will benefit from Loeb & Loeb’s Mentoring Program. Designed to provide ongoing support and guidance for all associates, the firmwide, formal program is dedicated to associate development, retention and high morale.
Our 2008 summer associates are representative of the size and diversity of the program. These law students come from schools all over the country and bring a variety of interests and experience.
Further information for program applicants is available on our FAQ page as well as through the National Association for Law Placement (NALP) where a profile of Loeb & Loeb’s Los Angeles office provides a closer look at the firm’s organization, summer associate data and employment statistics. The Loeb & Loeb NALP overview is available to view here as well as on the organization’s Web page, www.nalpdirectory.com.
