W. Allan Edmiston is a business litigator and trial lawyer.
Mr. Edmiston focuses his practice on complex commercial and corporate matters, including direct and derivative shareholder suits, investor actions and contests over corporate control, for clients in the financial services, hedge fund, private equity, manufacturing and apparel industries, among others.
Mr. Edmiston also defends prominent law and accounting firms, as well as their professionals, against lawsuits alleging malpractice, negligence and breaches of fiduciary duty.
In the real estate area, Mr. Edmiston litigates contract and lease disputes, complex insurance coverage and bad faith disputes, and matters involving lien and ownership priority issues, bona fide purchaser/encumbrancer status, mechanic’s lien rights, easement rights, and adverse possession and other prescriptive rights.
Finally, Mr. Edmiston litigates entertainment-related disputes involving copyright, right of publicity, idea submission, anti-piracy and contract claims, among others, on behalf of prominent clients in the motion picture, television and music industries.
Mr. Edmiston’s pro bono efforts include work on behalf of the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, for whom he has jury-tried misdemeanours including battery, trespass, theft and vehicular hit-and-run.
