Rebel Steiner’s 38-year tenure at Loeb & Loeb has provided him the opportunity to build extensive relationships and a diverse practice in the entertainment industry. 

Direct and efficient in his approach, Rebel represents a wide variety of companies, including major television networks, motion picture studios and independent production companies, on a full spectrum of talent and music matters. He is passionate about working strategically to secure leverage for his clients. Rebel counsels business affairs executives and producers on long-term planning, project oversight and pre-litigation concerns. 

He counsels clients on copyright and intellectual property acquisitions for film, television and new media technologies; television and film production and distribution agreements; soundtrack album agreements; and merchandising and sponsorship agreements. His corporate clients include HBO, World of Wonder, ITV America, MRC and Media Res.

Rebel also advises individual producers, directors, managers, screenwriters, composers, musicians, songwriters, music supervisors and literary authors. He has vast experience negotiating management agreements, music publishing agreements, catalogue purchase agreements, and literary option and book publishing agreements. He enjoys working closely with creative innovators in the entertainment space. Individual clients include Elyn Saks, author of “The Center Cannot Hold: My Journey Through Madness” on The New York Times Best Seller List, and Tenacious D, recording and touring artists.

Rebel regularly serves as the featured speaker or panelist at numerous industry seminars. Recent speaking engagements include the Yale in Hollywood Entertainment Conference; “The Deal: Deal Terms and Legal Issues for Screenwriters and Songwriters in Film, Television and Theater” in Nashville; and Tulane University’s entertainment law seminar in New Orleans. 

Beyond practicing law, Rebel takes an interest in music, traveling, tennis, poker and college football. He is also a self-proclaimed “foodie” and enjoys dining out and cooking.
