Joy Teitel’s practice focuses on transactional entertainment matters, with a particular emphasis on digital media and interactive entertainment. She advises major consumer brands, mobile game and app developers, advertising agencies, media companies, and content creators concerning complex licensing and rights issues for interactive streaming services, mobile games and apps, and social media campaigns.
Ms. Teitel’s practice also includes negotiating and drafting a wide variety of agreements in the music and television industries, including recording and music publishing agreements, writer agreements, producer agreements, director agreements, actor agreements, merchandising agreements, and sponsorship and endorsement agreements, among others.
She is a requested speaker in the digital media and interactive entertainment industries. Her most recent speaking engagements include an American Bar Association panel with Universal Music Publishing Group entitled “Music App Licensing and Clearance” and a panel at SXSW in Austin, Texas entitled “Reinventing Artists’ Transactions Into the Future”.
