Overview

Barry Mehlman is a transactional lawyer representing private equity and other clients as they (i) expand their businesses through acquisitions, joint ventures, and debt and equity financings and (ii) exit investments through dispositions. He provides detailed hands-on service with an appreciation of the big picture. With the perspective of an experienced professional, Barry provides legal advice as well as guidance on investment strategies and the identification of transaction opportunities. 

I pride myself on cultivating personal relationships with clients, and they know that I am committed to assisting them in any way that I can.

Barry regularly advises middle-market private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies in corporate transactions, commercial contracts and general corporate matters. His clients span a broad array of industries, including health care, life sciences, manufacturing, technology, hospitality and construction. He regularly represents one of the nation’s largest integrated health systems, a top-quartile middle-market private equity firm, other private equity sponsors, pharmaceutical manufacturers, healthcare technology companies and companies that provide services to the healthcare industry.

Earlier in his career, Barry was an attorney with the Securities and Exchange Commission. In this capacity, he served as an assistant to Commissioner Charles Marinaccio, rendered no-action advice in the Office of Chief Counsel, Division of Corporation Finance, and reviewed 1933 Act and 1934 Act filings in the Division of Corporation Finance.
