Senior Counsel
Amy Ortner’s practice focuses on a variety of transactional entertainment matters, with particular emphasis on the music industry.
Ms. Ortner frequently represents institutions with regard to music and related media content licenses, and in branded entertainment transactions with high-profile talent and content owners. She also counsels institutional and investor clients regarding the acquisition, sale and financing of companies that have significant music publishing, recorded music or other intellectual property assets.
Ms. Ortner also represents recording companies, music publishers, and other entities, as well as recording artists, songwriters and producers regarding the acquisition, development, production and exploitation of entertainment projects. In that regard, she drafts and negotiates recording agreements, composer agreements, music publishing agreements, producer agreements, license agreements, merchandising agreements, consultancy agreements, personal management agreements, talent agreements and agreements relating to the digital distribution of music.

Representation of the purchasers of Warner Music Group from Time Warner, and related financing transactions and securities offerings
