James Goodkind’s practice involves advising entertainment companies and executives, individual talent and talent representatives. His broad experience in entertainment transactions ranges from guiding individual and corporate clients in complex multimillion-dollar transactions to advising on day-to-day and career development matters.

Some examples of his recent matters include advising performing artists, promoters, producers, venues, advertisers and sponsors in connection with major live events, concerts and touring; representing music industry biographical property for documentary and dramatic motion picture projects; counseling casino and resort companies in entertainment transactions; representing recording artists (including estates), producers, personal managers and executives in music and multimedia industries; and working with film and television actors in all aspects (including fashion, music, stage as well as film and television) of their careers.

Prior Work Experience

Mr. Goodkind brings his strategic experience as a former entertainment litigator to his transactional practice. Prior to gaining extensive experience as an entertainment transactions attorney, Mr. Goodkind was an entertainment litigator with Don Engel’s law firm, for whom he appeared as counsel in a wide range of prominent film, music and television cases.
